During a Special Council Meeting on Tuesday, May 7, the North Miami City Council appointed Anna-Bo Emmanuel, Esq., FRA-RA, to the role of Interim City Manager, effective immediately.
Emmanuel is no stranger to the City of North Miami. Since March 2023, she has served as Executive Director of the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA). She will continue serving in this role. As Executive Director of the NMCRA, Emmanuel leads the execution of the redevelopment plan for the agency’s designated boundaries, which make up approximately 60% of the City of North Miami.
As a proven Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) professional, Emmanuel previously served as Chief Legal Counsel for the Southeast Overtown/ Park West CRA and as the Assistant Director of the City of Homestead CRA.
“I am very grateful to further serve the North Miami community through this new opportunity,” said Emmanuel. “With the leadership of the North Miami City Council and the highly skilled and professional City staff, I am confident that North Miami’s essential services, major projects, development, unique opportunities and experiences will continue moving forward. I look forward to working with the community to ensure North Miami’s continued growth and success.”
Recently, Emmanuel received her CP3P designation from the Association for the Improvement of American Infrastructure (AIAI), as a Certified P3 Professional. She also holds an FRA-RA designation from the Florida Redevelopment Association.
Emmanuel earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Miami. She holds a Juris Doctorate Degree from the Florida International University College of Law, and also has an LLM in Real Estate and Property Development from the University of Miami School of Law.
Emmanuel is a Class VIII member of the Miami Fellows. She is also a member of several voluntary bar associations including the Caribbean Bar Association and the Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association.
