North Miami Mayor Alix Desulme, Ed.D., recently announced the newest members of his senior staff who will oversee legislative and constituent affairs as well as work with city hall to advance his administration’s priorities as outlined in his 100-day and two-year plans. These plans focus on safety, financial stability and accountability, social services and community engagement, resiliency and sustainability, and infrastructure improvements.
“I am pleased by the level of talent that will serve the People’s Administration in North Miami,” Mayor Desulme said. “The years of experience and vast areas of expertise will help us in our efforts to create opportunities and improve socio-economic conditions throughout the city.”
Members of the mayor’s administrative team reflect the cultural diversity of North Miami. The new senior staff members who recently joined his team are government connector Misty Brown and Louis Antoine.
Misty Brown, Chief of Staff/Senior Policy Advisor
Brown’s long history in government is coupled with her current stint in entrepreneurship as the owner of a government consulting firm, MXB & Associates. Over the course of her career, she has worked for elected officials on all levels of government including former Miami-Dade County Commission Chairwoman Audrey Edmonson, former Miami-Dade County Mayor Alex Penelas, former U.S. Representative Kendrick Meek, former U.S. Representative Carrie Meek, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis Moss, Miami Chairman Arthur E. Teele and U.S. Senator Joseph Biden.
Louis Antoine, Director of Constituent Services/Strategic Initiatives
As a part of working with constituents and city departments, Antoine is responsible for special projects such as the free distribution of Blink security cameras to North Miami residents thanks to the mayor’s Safer in NoMi initiative. Antoine’s career spans more than two decades and encompasses both the private and public sectors. He co-founded three startups including Pickmeup Limousine Service where he served as Chairman and CEO. He also co-founded a non-profit, Protecting the Children, where he served as Director of Operations. He even worked for a Miami-Dade County Commissioner as the Director of Constituent Services prior to joining Mayor Desulme’s staff.
