[ARCHIVED] The City of North Miami Celebrates the Return of its 6-Week Paid Internship Program

April 15, 2024

The City of North Miami Housing and Social Services Department is excited to announce the return of its annual Youth Opportunity Board Summer Internship Program (YOB). This unique initiative aims to provide valuable professional experience to local youth, while also giving them a behind the scenes look at the inner working of local government operations.

The six-week program offers paid internship opportunities to North Miami’s high school students, ages 16-18. The program nurtures local talent and fosters a sense of civic engagement among teens seeking to gain hands-on experience in various fields within their local government, by working alongside the city of North Miami’s professional staff.

"For more than 40 years, the City of North has proudly built the legacy of the YOB Program, which provides an invaluable opportunity for local youth to gain practical professional experience and contribute to meaningful projects within our municipality," said Alberte Bazile, Director of the Housing and Social Services Department.

Interns will also have mentorship opportunities, attend professional development workshops and partake in networking events to enhance their skills and expand their professional networks.

Applications for the Youth Opportunity Board Summer Internship Program are open until Monday, May 17, 2024. Interested candidates can apply online, at North Miami Housing and Social Services Department. For more information, please contact 305-893-6511, Ext. 20000.
