Library Board members serve as a liaison between the community and Library, setting policy and making recommendations to improve Library services.
Each member of the City Council shall nominate one (1) member of the Library Board, which nomination shall be subject to approval of a majority of the City Council. The five members thus appointed by the City Council shall be residents of the City. The initial members of the Board shall be appointed by the City Council immediately upon adoption of this ordinance. Each member so appointed shall hold office for a four (4) year term, except the member nominated by the Mayor shall hold office for a two (2) year term.

The Library board, was established by Ordinance 853. on September 10, 1991.
