I am deeply saddened and outraged by the recent violent attack in Boulder, Colorado, where a peaceful demonstration calling for the release of hostages was targeted with Molotov cocktails—an appalling act that injured several and could have led to far greater harm. Such violence, rooted in hate, is unacceptable and has no place in any community.
I have personally reached out to Mayor Aaron Brockett of Boulder, Colorado, to express my support and solidarity during this difficult time. North Miami stands firmly with the people of Boulder and joins them in condemning this horrific act.
North Miami is a city built on diversity, unity, and mutual respect. We reject hate in all forms and remain committed to creating a safe, inclusive environment for all. In this moment of grief and concern, we echo the need for unity and reaffirm our shared commitment to peace and justice.
Let us move forward together, rejecting hate and embracing the values that bind us as one people.
Mayor Alix Desulme, Ed.D.
City of North Miami
