How to properly prepare your Garbage and Recycling Cart for Pick-Up

  • You may place carts at curbside no earlier than twenty-four (24) hours before your scheduled collection day. Carts must be returned within twenty-four (24) hours after pickup. 
  • Bag household garbage before placing it in your trash cart. Bagging your garbage helps keep your trash cart clean and prevents trash from spilling on the ground when being serviced. 
  • Placing small bulk or yard waste in the garbage cart is okay if it fits in the cart and the lid closes properly. 
  • Place items or yard waste that does not fit in your garbage cart out at the curbside on your next bulk waste collection day. 
  • The olive green cart is for recycling collection only. 
  • The following items are accepted for recycling: 
    • paper
    • glass
    • metal cans (aluminum, steel, and tin)
    • plastics
  • Remove bottle caps and place them in the trash
  • Empty all bottles before placing them in your recycling cart for collection
  • Cart lids must be closed and the arrows must be facing the street. Do not place carts by mailboxes, vehicles, or other objects
  • Maintain space between the recycling and garbage carts to allow for automated pickup
