This program provides one-time rental payment assistance to families who can no longer afford to remain in their units due to a rent increase or unforeseen circumstances. Families whose units are being gentrified are also eligible. Applicants are considered eligible if their total household income does not exceed 80% area median income, they are a North Miami resident, and the new rental unit does not exceed 40% of the family’s adjusted income.
Funding for the program is provided by U.S. HUD through the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME). This is a one-time rental assistance grant of up to $3,000 that can go towards security deposit and/or first month and requires no repayment.
