The City of North Miami Finance Department/Utility Billing Division oversees the billing for city utilities. Although commonly referred to as the "water bill", the utility bill includes charges for water, sewer, stormwater, and/or sanitation.
The customer is responsible for performing repairs on private property, along with maintaining their service line.
The City of North Miami is responsible for maintaining the city’s service lines along with the meter. The City does not perform repairs on private property, provide advice for specific repairs, or make plumbing/contractor recommendations or referrals.
The City encourages customers to find and repair leaks as quickly as possible to conserve water, a critical resource.
The customer is responsible for all water consumption past the meter box whether concealed or underground. Any water system leaks on the customer’s side of the meter are the customer’s responsibility to locate and repair. However, customers may apply for an adjustment to their bill.
Note the following regarding possible adjustments:
One-Time Lifetime Credit applies to accounts with an extremely high bill that is not the result of a leak or any changes on the property.
