City of North Miami District 4 Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles, M.Ed., Launches Hurricane Melissa Caribbean Emergency Relief.
NORTH MIAMI, FL (October 30, 2025)
In response to the devastating impact of Hurricane Melissa across the Caribbean, North Miami District 4 Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles, M.Ed., is spearheading a Caribbean Emergency Relief Drive to support families and communities recovering from the storm’s destruction. Donations will be accepted beginning Thursday, October 30, with the donation drop-off location at Sunkist Grove Community Center, 12500 NW 13th Avenue, North Miami, FL 33167.
The City of North Miami stands in solidarity with our Caribbean neighbors during this critical time. The relief drive aims to collect essential supplies that will be distributed to affected areas through Global Empowerment Mission.
“This initiative represents the spirit of compassion and community that defines North Miami,” said Charles. “Our Caribbean brothers and sisters have endured tremendous loss, and together we can help provide relief and restore hope.”
Residents, local organizations, and businesses are invited to participate by donating supplies or volunteering to support collection and coordination efforts.

- Industrial Sponges
- First-Aid Kits
- Hygiene Kits
- Batteries
- Water
- Generators
- Sleeping Bags
- Trash Bags
- Work Gloves
- Canned Foods
- Solar-Powered Lights
- Washcloths
- Nonperishable Foods
- Tents
- Deodorant
- Flashlights
