NORTH MIAMI, FL (June 2, 2025)
The City of North Miami proudly announces that its annual financial audit for Fiscal Year 2024 concluded with zero findings. The audit, conducted by Certified Public Accounting Firm Anthony Brunson, P.A., confirms the City’s sound financial stewardship and strict adherence to federal and state compliance standards.
During the May 27, 2025, City Council Meeting, the auditors presented an unmodified opinion on the City’s financial statements, signifying a clean review with no material weaknesses or reportable issues across governmental, business-type, and federal grant programs.
“This zero-finding audit is the result of years of intentional effort, accountability and discipline,” said Mayor Alix Desulme, Ed.D., City of North Miami. “From the beginning of my administration, I made it clear that financial stability is a core principle. Under my leadership, we’ve prioritized building the City’s reserves; and I am proud to say that we’ve grown it to over $5 million. This audit confirms we’re on the right path, and I’m grateful for the hard work and dedication of our Interim City Manager, our Chief Financial Officer, and every department director and staff member who helped make this possible.” Council members echoed the mayor’s sentiments.
The audit included comprehensive testing of internal controls, as well as compliance with the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. The City ended the year with a $3.5 million general fund surplus and a $21 million fund balance, indicators of growing resilience and strategic growth.
