The City of North Miami’s celebration of its 46th Annual WinterNational Thanksgiving Day Parade will go virtual this year, premiering on Facebook and NoMi TV at 10 a.m., Thanksgiving Day!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in-person parade festivities were cancelled and replaced with a virtual highlight reel titled, A Stroll Down 125th Street: A Look Back At the City of North Miami’s WinterNational Thanksgiving Day Parade. Presented virtually, this video tells the story of the inception and evolution of the WinterNational Thanksgiving Day Parade, which dates back to 1974. The date of origin is often argued among North Miami’s local historians, and is one of many points brought to the forefront in the video. The video also highlights first-hand memories and personal experiences of members of the community who have woven the parade into their family Thanksgiving Day traditions for generations.
