An Evening of Poetry with Richard Blanco: Celebrating National Poetry Month at the North Miami Public Library

In honor of National Poetry Month, the North Miami Public Library, in collaboration with the Friends of the North Miami Public Library, proudly announces a poetic evening with esteemed poet Richard Blanco. Blanco, the fifth poet to ever present at a presidential inauguration, will grace the city of North Miami on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the North Miami Public Library located at 835 NE 132 Street, North Miami, Fl 33161. Recognized for his captivating blend of personal narratives and universal themes, Blanco’s poetry explores the essence of identity, culture, and belonging.
His works resonate deeply with audiences worldwide, fostering connections and understanding through the power of language. "We are thrilled to host Richard Blanco as part of our National Poetry Month celebrations,” said Paul Bazile, Director of the North Miami Public Library. “His poignant verses have the ability to inspire and uplift, offering profound insights into the human experience." The evening promises to be a literary delight, featuring readings from Blanco’s acclaimed collections, as well as a Q&A session and book signing opportunity. Attendees will have the chance to engage directly with Blanco, gaining insights into his creative process and the inspiration behind his poetry. Admission to the event is free and open to the public, with doors opening at 5:30 PM. Seating is limited, so early arrival is encouraged to secure a spot for this unforgettable literary experience.
