North Miami Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles, M.Ed. Connects with Local Entrepreneurs at District 4 Small Business Expo.

NORTH MIAMI, FL (August 15, 2025)

Councilman Pierre Frantz Charles, M.Ed., City of North Miami, District 4, invites members of the local business community to experience a day of professional networking, learning and resource sharing at the inaugural District 4 Small Business Expo. Taking place Friday, Aug. 22, at North Miami’s Joe Celestin Center, from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., this event has a special focus on growing and attracting businesses to North Miami’s NW 7th Avenue Business Corridor.

“Growth and forward movement is happening all around North Miami; and I want to make sure that our small businesses along NW 7th Avenue have the network, knowledge and tools to be a part of this historic moment and for taking small businesses in District 4 to the next level,” Charles stated.

“The District 4 Small Business Expo is an example of how our network of North Miami community partners joins forces to serve our residents and businesses,” said Theresa Therilus, Esq., City Manager, City of North Miami. “I am excited to connect with our small business leaders in District 4; and I look forward to seeing great outcomes from this new platform for engaging and equipping our City’s current and future businesses to thrive.”

This day-long event will kick-off with a showcase of nearly 20 businesses based in North Miami, 4th District. The expo will also feature two insightful business panel discussions. The first panel, “How to Do Business in North Miami,” provides an overview of North Miami’s business compliance standards, ranging from certificates of use, business tax receipts, code compliance and City vendor registration. The second panel, titled, “How to Get Grants in North Miami,” will delve into grant opportunities available through the City, the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (NMCRA), the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce and the Haitian American Chamber of Commerce.

“The North Miami CRA is thrilled to be a part of this experience and at the chance to help highlight the potential economic impact of a revitalized NW 7th Avenue,” said Anna-Bo Emmanuel, Esq., Executive Director of the NMCRA. “Our CRA offers wide ranging commercial grant options...business attraction, beautification, rehabilitation and capacity building grants. We can support an array of business goals; and we want to make sure that our business community is fully aware and equipped to take advantage of these great opportunities.”

“The Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce is proud to be a continuing sponsor and partner to the City of North Miami’s business initiatives, which foster growth and opportunity for our community,” said Chairman Dave Burney, Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce. “I am honored to serve on the District 4 Small Business Expo panel and to share actionable insights that empower and inspire our local entrepreneurs.”

As a bonus, the expo will include a resource room, where local business support organizations will offer on-site application assistance. Dr. Rudolph Moïse, a North Miami business owner and Medical Director of Comprehensive Medical Aesthetics will provide the keynote address. Moïse’s remarks will reflect on his entrepreneurial journey of growing his small medical practice into one of North Miami’s largest medical facilities. He will also share his personal story of how tapping into small business support resources -- like the local chamber of commerce -- helped grow his business.

Registration for this event is free. Online registration. During the event, on-site registration will also be available at the Joe Celestin Community Center, located at 1525 NW 135th Street, North Miami, FL 33168.
