Shaunterria Owens (she/her) is the Youth Services Specialist at North Miami Public Library. She brings over 20 years of experience in school and public libraries from Southern California to New Jersey and now sunny Florida. She’s an avid children’s lit reviewer (Booklist, Booklinx) and a committee dynamo with ALA, championing graphic novels, feminist reads, and Black librarianship through roles with RISE, GNCRT, BCALA, and more.
When she’s not advocating for literacy or leading the Library Support Staff Round Table, Shaunterria’s dancing it out as a licensed Zumbini instructor, cozying up with a cross-stitch project, or chasing her four amazing kids.
