[ARCHIVED] Annual Water Chlorination Treatment

Annual Water Chlorination Treatment. November 8 through November 21, 2021

Monday, November 8, 2021 through Sunday, November 21, 2021

The City of North Miami Public Works Department - Water Utility joins Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department in the annual free chlorination treatment of all regional water treatment facilities in Miami-Dade County, including North Miami’s Winson Water Plant at Sunkist Grove.

Each year, the method of chlorination is changed for a two week period to provide a free chlorination disinfection process in the water distribution system. The free chlorine treatment will be used to provide a somewhat stronger disinfection process than the combined chlorine treatment which is normally used throughout Miami-Dade County.

This year the free chlorination treatment period will begin on Monday, November 8, 2021 through Sunday, November 21, 2021. During this time period, water customers may experience somewhat stronger chlorine taste or odor in their tap water.

This is a temporary condition that will not cause adverse health effects.

If you have any questions regarding this treatment method, you may contact the Winson Water Plant at Sunkist Grove at 305-953-2854. For more information, visit www.miamidade.gov/water.
