The City of North Miami partners with the University of Miami Health System’s Pediatric Mobile Clinic to host a Vaccine Event
North Miami, FL – May 6, 2021
The City of North Miami will host a vaccination event for residents who wish to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. The event will be hosted in collaboration with the University of Miami Health System’s Pediatric Mobile Clinic at the Joe Celestin Center (located at 1525 N.W. 135th Street, North Miami, FL 33167) on Monday, May 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
This community vaccination site will be hosted in partnership with North Miami Mayor Philippe Bien-Aime and Councilman Alix Desulme, Ed.D. Vaccines will be free of charge and available for residents who are 16 years of age and older in accordance with the Governor’s Executive Order Number 21-79. Residents who are ages 16 and 17 must be accompanied by a guardian. The vaccines will help protect residents against the coronavirus, and they do not contain the live virus that causes COVID-19. This means that a COVID-19 vaccine cannot make you sick with COVID-19. The vaccine teaches our immune systems how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19. This process may cause mild symptoms, which are normal and are a sign that the body is building protection against the virus. After receiving the vaccine, the CDC recommends residents continue to wear a mask, social distance, and follow other public health precautions.
Residents will be serviced on a first come, first served basis. There is no registration required for this event. Upon arrival, residents must show proof of Florida residency (for example: monthly mortgage statement, utility bill, or any other documentation that provides proof of address) and a valid form of ID. Residents who attend the vaccination event will be automatically scheduled for their 2nd dose on Wednesday, June 2nd, by the medical staff on-site.
