The North Miami Police Department is proud to announce historic reductions in crime for the year 2024, marking one of the safest periods in the city’s history. With a 13% decrease in overall crime, a remarkable 41% reduction in violent crime, and a 100% reduction in homicides, the department is setting new standards for safety and community well-being.

Key highlights from the 2024 crime statistics include:

  • 100% Reduction in Homicides: The city achieved a historic milestone, as for the first time in over 48 years the police department recorded zero homicides for 2024.

  • 13% Reduction in Overall Crime: A significant year-over-year decrease, signaling a sustained effort to make North Miami safer for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
  • 41% Decrease in Violent Crimes: The department’s comprehensive approach to crime prevention, including enhanced community policing and proactive law enforcement strategies, has resulted in a major decline in violent offenses.
  • In 2024, North Miami recorded the third-lowest number of Part I Crimes in the City’s history since 1979.
