Tropical Storm Eta Update
City of North Miami Tropical Declaration of State of Emergency Tropical Storm Eta (PDF) - 11 08 2020
The City would like to inform the public of the following operational updates:
City of North Miami Facilities
ALL North Miami facilities closed due to Tropical Storm Eta will reopen Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
North Miami Park Closures
All City of North Miami Parks closed due to Tropical Storm Eta will remain closed on Monday, November 9, 2020, but will reopen on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
On November 10, due to storm-related damages, closures of North Bayshore William Lehman Park and Elaine Gordon Enchanted Forest Park will continue until further notice

Sanitation and Recycling Services
ALL North Miami sanitation services will be restored on Tuesday, November 10.
NoMi Express Shuttle
NoMi Express Shuttle service will resume on Tuesday, November 10, 2020.
Flood Safety
Though Tropical Storm Eta has passed, hazardous conditions may persist throughout the City for the next few days. Please take due care when driving, as many areas are flooded. Do not allow your children to play in standing flood water as it may be contaminated. If you see a damaged or downed power line, do not touch it. Stay back and call 911 to report it. Please remember to check on your friends and family members who may be stuck in their homes due to flood waters.
Due to hazardous flood conditions, the North Miami Police Department urges motorists to avoid the following areas:
- Biscayne Boulevard, at NE 118th Street
- NE 3rd Court, from NE 132nd Street to NE 141st Street
- NE 141st Street, between NE 3rd Court and NE 5th Avenue
- NE 11th Court, between NE 121st Street to NE 123rd Street
- NE 144th Street, from 8th to 10th avenues
- NE 8 Avenue, from 146th to 147th Street
Hurricane Preparation
Season
Hurricane season is June 1st through November 30th. It is never too early to begin planning your family and your home for the storm season. We urge you to plan now and be prepared.

Evacuation
Miami-Dade County coordinates area evacuations, the designation of emergency shelters, bus pickup sites, etc.
