WILLIAM MIRANDA HONORED AS NORTH MIAMI’S EMPLOYEE OF THE QUARTER – FALL 2011.
North Miami, FL – January 23, 2012 – The City of North Miami has named William Miranda, Maintenance Mechanic from the Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) as Employee of the Quarter for Fall 2011.
William was nominated by Bonnie Clearwater, Director and Chief Curator of MOCA, for his diligent work to make sure MOCA is running “at top form” and that the facility is maintained “for the protection of art and as the jewel of North Miami.” Mr. Miranda is responsible for the overall maintenance of MOCA’s buildings and outdoor amenities, which require constant attention. He responds to alarm calls after hours and stays to do repairs when they are necessary after the regular business day. He is also the backbone of MOCA’s special events division, assisting staff with set-up of the event from chairs to audio equipment to artwork presentations.
“William is proud of MOCA,” explains Bonnie Clearwater, “and I would like for him to know that we are proud of him and deeply appreciate his hard work, good humor and friendship.”
William will be presented with a plaque at the January 24th City Council meeting and a $100 savings bond. He will also be treated to a luncheon sponsored by Florida International University’s School of Hospitality Management at Biscayne Bay Campus.
