TROPICAL STORM ISAAC - North Miami Advisory #1
North Miami, FL – 8/26/2012
The City of North Miami along with Miami-Dade County, are monitoring
Tropical Storm Isaac.
Miami-Dade County is
currently under a Hurricane Watch. Hurricane
conditions are possible on Sunday and Monday. Projected weather impact is
expected to be sustained winds from 35-45 mph with gusts from 50-60 mph and
potential rain/flooding 5-10 inches late Sunday through early Monday.
High winds
and heavy rain cause dangerous conditions. Heavy flooding is expected. Although
portions of our City east of Biscayne Blvd. /US1 are in an evacuation zone, no
evacuations have been ordered at this time.
At this time, no decision has
been made regarding the status of City and County operations or Miami-Dade
County School classes on Monday. The City of North Miami does not intend to
activate its Emergency Operations Center at this time.
