NORTH MIAMI SUPPORTS LOCAL EFFORTS TO AID TYPOHOON VICTIMS IN THE PHILIPPINES

North Miami, FL – 12/11/2013

The city of North Miami supports local efforts to aid the victims of Typhoon Haiyan, which devastated areas of the Philippines last month. Realizing that there is still much needed in terms of recovery and rebuilding, the city of North Miami is accepting donations on behalf of the Filipino American Association of Florida, Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization that is coordinating relief support efforts throughout the state of Florida. The Association will turn all donations over to the Philippine Jesuit Foundation to render aid directly victims.

Donations will be accepted at the Office of the City Manager, located on the 4th floor of North Miami City Hall, 776 NE 125 Street, through this Friday, December 13th Checks should be made payable to the City of North Miami, with Typhoon Haiyan donation noted in the memo section. All funds raised will be presented to the Filipino American Assocation of Florida, Inc., at the Children of the Storm benefit concert, which will take place in Port St. Lucie on Saturday, December 14th, 11 a.m. – 9 p.m.
