North Miami, FL – 5/30/2013

The City of North Miami has named Felicia Bellamy, Information Processing Coordinator in the Information Technology Department as Employee of the Quarter for Winter 2013.

Felicia was nominated by Personnel Director, Rebecca Jones, and Transportation Planner, John O’Brien, for her “positive, energetic force in her duties.”  She is the type of employee that sees a problem and finds a solution, even when she could simply turn her back and say that it is not her job, but that is not Felicia’s style.  She is not afraid to take action to make things more efficient.  One particular example is the sale of the monthly discounted bus passes which began to cause problems in the lobby of City Hall, with over 100 people jostling for the discounted passes on the day they go on sale each month.  Mrs. Bellamy saw this and immediately took action to organize the group, passing out numbers and making special arrangements for the elderly and those with disabilities.  She has continued to do this each month for the last two years.

Felicia was be presented with a plaque and a gift card at the May 28 City Council meeting.  She also earned the right to use a preferred parking space through August 15, 2013 and will be treated to a luncheon sponsored by Florida International University’s School of Hospitality Management at Biscayne Bay Campus.
