The North Miami Senior Citizens Advisory Board is hosting a Senior Citizens Resource Fair tomorrow, Thursday, May 16,11 a.m. – 3 p.m., to provide a variety of information and resources to seniors in North Miami. The event will be held at Griffing Community Center, 12220 Griffing Boulevard, (near the intersection of West Dixie Highway and NE 123 Street.) 

Seniors and their families are invited to attend the FREE event to learn about local options. Miami - Dade Transit will be processing Golden Passport EASY Card applications and renewals. Seniors 65 or older or Social Security beneficiaries who are permanent Miami -Dade residents are eligible to ride transit FREE with the card. Applicants must present a current valid Florida ID or a driver’s license with a Miami-Dade County address. 

Participating agencies are as follows: North Shore Medical Center, North Miami Foundation for Senior Citizens, NANAY, Center for Independent Living / Florida Telecommunications Relay, Inc. (FTRI), The ARC of South Florida, Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health Center, Helping Hands Senior Resource Center, Alliance for Aging, Center for Geriatric Psychiatry @ Jackson North, North Miami Parks and Recreation Department - Griffing Community Center, North Miami Police Department, North Miami Public Library, and Humana Insurance. Refreshments will be provided throughout the event.
