Run-off Election to be Held on Tuesday, June 4th; Early Voting begins on Thursday, May 30

The city of North Miami’s General Election, held on May 14, 2013, resulted in a run-off for all three council seats, as no individual candidate earned the 50% plus one vote required by the City’s Charter to win the seat straight out. Voter turnout was higher than usual, with a total of 6,883 (out of 28,280 registered voters) or 24.34%, exercising their democratic right to vote.

The following are the candidates for each seat in the run-off election, which will be held on Tuesday, June 4th.  Their results from the May 14th election are also listed.  Early voting will be held Thursday, May 30th through Sunday, June 2nd at the North Miami Public Library, located at 835 NE 132 ST.  For early voting hours, visit

                        Lucie Tondreau                    1,870 votes    27.56%

District 2         Mary C. Irvin                          435 votes       26.41%

District 3         Philippe Bien-Aime             627 votes       41.33%

                        Jacques Despinosse          416 votes       27.42%
