Groundbreaking of the PAL of North Miami Building

The Police Athletic League (PAL) of North Miami will be celebrating the groundbreaking of their new building on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. The youth of North Miami and surrounding areas will soon have a top notch facility to be mentored, tutored and developed to be Productive, Active Leaders. The ceremony will take place at 13498 NE 8 AVE.

The mission PAL of North Miami is to cultivate the partnership between parents, schools, the community, and the police department to Developing Productive Active Leaders from our communities’ youth. The new facility will allow for all this to be accomplished at one site. The projected time of completion is about two years from now and was made possible by funding from the City of North Miami.

PAL aims to meet the needs of our youth through a variety of after school athletic and educational programs utilizing positive role models, such as police officers, educators, and community volunteers in informal settings other than the structured classroom environment. Some activities include basketball, track and field, boxing and educational services, such as tutoring in English, Reading, and Math.
