North Miami Joins with Konbit for Haiti / Color of Hope to Commemorate
3rd Anniversary of Haiti Earthquake Tragedy

This month’s Get in Gear Community Bike Ride will be done in commemoration the 3rd Anniversary of the Haiti Earthquake tragedy. The City of North Miami is collaborating with Konbit for Haiti / Color of Hope on this segment of their larger “Save Haiti” ride, which travels to West Palm Beach this Saturday, January 12, 2013. The North Miami ride begins and ends in the MOCA Plaza, 770 NE 125 Street. The route will travel East, (approximately 10 miles), and make stops at the North Miami PAL facility (12460 NE 13 Place) and at Jamba Juice (13505 Biscayne Boulevard.)  Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. in the MOCA Plaza and the ride will depart at 8 a.m.

The Get in Gear Community Bike Ride is an ACHIEVE wellness initiative, in partnership with the North Miami Parks and Recreation Department and the North Miami Police Department. Our mission is to encourage a healthier lifestyle through exercise and more nutritional diets.  Helmets are required for all participants age 16 and under.  The rides will take place on the second Saturday of the month through March 2011 and will return to evening rides during daylight savings time.
