STATUS REPORT # 3 FROM THE CITY OF NORTH MIAMI IN RESPONSE TO HURRICANE DORIAN

North Miami, FL – 9/1/2019

The North Miami Emergency Operations Center would like to inform the public of the following activities taking place in response to Hurricane Dorian

  • North Miami residents with non-emergency questions and concerns may call 305-893-6511. 
  • Effective immediately, all solid waste collection services in the city of North Miami are suspended, as Miami-Dade County has closed it collection site due to Hurricane Dorian. Notice will be given when service resumes. 
  • All Miami-Dade County Public Schools, including night and adult programs, as well as District offices, will be closed and all student activities will be canceled on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Visit http://www.dadeschools.net/ for updates regarding Miami-Dade County Public Schools. 
  • City of North Miami administrative offices will be open during normal business hours on Tuesday, September 3, 2019
  • The North Miami Public Library, located at 835 NE 132 Street, will be open during normal business hours on Tuesday, September 3, 2019
  • The Museum of Contemporary Art, located at 770 NE 125 Street, will be open during normal business hours on Tuesday, September 3, 2019
  • The Code Compliance Special Magistrate Hearing scheduled for Wednesday, September 4, 2019 has been postponed. A new hearing date will be scheduled and proper public notice will be given. 
  • The first FY2020 Budget Hearing to adopt a millage rate and budget on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, for the City of North Miami is being rescheduled. A new (tentative/final) budget hearing date will be scheduled; and proper public notice will be given. 
  • The North Miami Express Shuttle Bus will not provide transit services on Veteran’s Day; but will continue its regular transit schedule, beginning Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
