FREE CODING CLASSES AVAILABLE TO NORTH MIAMI RESIDENTS THROUGH ECOTECH VISIONS FOUNDATION PARTNERSHIP

As part of its commitment to supporting and expanding the local workforce, the City of North Miami has partnered with the EcoTech Visions Foundation to provide North Miami residents with free admission to its Digital Citizens Bootcamp, which begins on January 7, 2019.    

The EcoTech Foundation’s Digital Citizens Bootcamp is an intensive eight-week course, focusing on the practical use of a variety of web-based tools and applications necessary for the new digital economy. Participants will learn a variety of coding languages, including: CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, plus social media marketing and app development. The program is taught by charismatic instructors who have extensive corporate work experience.  

An orientation for all registered students will take place Thursday, Jan. 3, at 6 p.m. Classes begin Monday, Jan. 7, from 6 - 8 p.m., and will continue every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, until Feb. 25. Sessions will be held at the North Miami Public L ibrary, 835 NE 132nd Street, North Miami.    

All North Miami residents interested in applying for the program may do so at ecotechvisions.typeform.com/to/iCrISj. Applicants must verify residency in two of the following methods: a government issued photo ID, a lease agreement or property deed, a North Miami water utility bill or a bank statement. The application deadline is Dec. 28. Space is limited.
