MAYOR SMITH JOSEPH PROVIDES GATEWAY FOR BUSINESS GROWTH AT QUARTERLY BUSINESS LUNCHEON

Today, North Miami
Mayor, Dr. Smith Joseph hosted his 14th Quarterly Business
Luncheons. Conceptualized in 2015, the Mayor’s Quarterly Business Luncheon aims
to connect small businesses with the resources they need to thrive in North
Miami.
The theme of today’s
luncheon was Igniting Redevelopment: Community Redevelopment Agencies, and a
Spark for Public-Private Partnerships. “We have laid incredible groundwork
through the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, and now we are ready to
take it to the next level through public-private partnerships. Today’s luncheon
is an opportunity to understand best practices from experts in the field,”
explained Dr. Joseph.
Mark S. Blanchard, Vice
President of AECOM and Kim Briesemeister, Principal at Redevelopment Management
Associates discussed merits and benefits of public-private partnerships and
community redevelopment agencies. Jeremy Earle, Ph.D., AICP, Halladale Beach
Assistant Manager, addressed the group as the keynote speaker and presented
case studies of successful CRA public-private partnership projects. Dr. Earle
is an expert in the field of community redevelopment, sustainability, and CRAs.
He commended Mayor Joseph for his leadership, initiatives and the positive
direction of the “City on the Move.” He urged attendees to be bold and
progressive in their vision and plans for building sustainable communities.
The event took place at
the Johnson & Wales University Wildcat Center Ballroom, with more than 120
attendees. In a continued effort to engage and educate local North Miami
business professionals and entrepreneurs, North Miami Mayor, Dr. Smith Joseph,
continues to host quarterly business luncheons. The Mayor’s Quarterly Business
luncheons are sponsored by the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency.
