THE NORTH MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT IS DOING GREAT THINGS IN THE COMMUNITY!

North Miami, FL – 6/25/2018

NORTH MIAMI POLICE ATHLETIC LEAGUE SELECTED AS A RECIPIENT OF THE MIAMI DOLPHINS 2018 FOOTBALL UNITES GRANT

The Police Athletic League of North Miami (PAL) was selected as one of the 11 recipients of the 2018 Football Unites Grant.

The grant, created by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross and Dolphins players in 2017, aims to strengthen and expand the impact of South Florida groups that focus on community engagement, justice reform, and education.

The grant will aid PAL in continuing their mission in “Developing Productive Active Leaders” through their after school programs in peer tutoring, mentoring, athletics, and the Junior Cadet Program. PAL youth will reap priceless rewards thanks to the continued support of the Miami Dolphins and the receipt of the Football Unites Grant.

North Miami Police Chief Larry Juriga said, “We are extremely humbled and honored to be a part of the Football Unites Grant Program.  It is another example of how the Miami Dolphins are at the forefront of promoting positive change and enhancing our youth’s opportunities. We are looking forward to continuing our collaborative community engagement, which leads to a better understanding, and ultimately to progress.”

NORTH MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT JOINS ‘NEIGHBORS’ TO PROVIDE USERS WITH REAL-TIME, LOCAL CRIME AND SAFETY INFORMATION

The North Miami Police Department today announced that it is joining the Neighbors app (iOS/Android) to provide the North Miami community with real-time, local crime and safety information. The Neighbors network already has millions of users and has been instrumental in catching package thieves, stopping burglaries, and keeping neighborhoods safe.

Download the free Neighbors app on iOS or Android, join your neighborhood, and use the app to: monitor neighborhood activity; share crime and safety-related videos, photos and text-based posts; and receive real-time safety alerts from your neighbors, local law enforcement and the Ring team.

North Miami Police Chief Larry Juriga said, “We are excited to join Ring Neighbors. It is a great tool to share relevant and important real-time crime information with our residents to keep them informed about local crime and safety tips. Additionally, Ring Neighbors will assist us in solving and preventing crime by sharing information via the Neighbors app.”

Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring, said, “We’re excited to have the North Miami Police Department join Neighbors to keep their community up-to-date on local crime and safety information. Over the past few years we have learned that, when neighbors, the Ring team and law enforcement all work together, we can create safer communities. Neighbors is meant to facilitate real-time communication between these groups, while maintaining neighbor privacy first and foremost. By bringing security to every neighbor with the free Neighbors app, the North Miami community can stay on top of crime and safety alerts as they happen.”
