North Miami, FL – 6/22/2018

The city of North Miami invites the community to join us Wednesday, July 4, for an evening of fireworks, music, food and family-friendly fun under the stars, during the annual Independence Day Celebration By the Bay.

Rain or shine, the Independence Day Celebration By the Bay takes place behind Florida International University’s (FIU) Kovens Center, located at 3000 NE 151st Street, North Miami. The festivities begin promptly at 6 p.m. This event is free and open to all. Free on-site parking is also available on a first come, first served basis.

Guests may pack blankets and lawn chairs to witness the spectacular 30-minute firework display reflected over the Biscayne Bay, presented by Pyrotecnico FX at 9 p.m. This year’s host, DJ Hercules, will keep the excitement flowing as an anticipated crowd of 3,500 guests enjoy live music by the Valerie Tyson Band and performers Crystal and Lindsey Blair. The event features a Kids’ Corner, with complimentary face painting, carnival games, prizes, a jumbo slide and bouncing obstacle course. Also, a tasty array of food will be available for purchase from on-site vendors.

Personal fireworks, weapons, large bags, coolers and alcoholic beverages are prohibited. Sunscreen and insect repellent are strongly encouraged.

For more information call North Miami’s Parks and Recreation Department at 305-895-9840.
