North Miami, FL – 10/2/2012

In order to inform and receive input from the community concerning the manner in which revenues obtained from the sale of Biscayne Landing would be spent, North Miami Mayor Andre D. Pierre, Esq. hosted a town hall meeting which was attended by a crowd of about 150.  The Mayor’s Town Hall Meeting took place at North Miami’s National Alliance to Nurture the Aged and the Youth (NANAY) located at 659 NE 125 ST, from 6 p.m. till 8p.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2012.

The community at large was encouraged to attend to have their opinions heard on how they would like to see the funds from the sale of Biscayne Landing spent. Members of the North Miami City Council were also in attendance along with community activists. Mr. Benny Trinidad, the Executive Vice- President and COO of Nanay said “The event was very informative and had a good turnout. What impressed me most was how the Mayor spoke on the history of North Miami.” The Mayor did indeed give a comprehensive presentation on both the City and Biscayne Landing.

Mr. Ken Knight, President and CEO of the Flea Market and Merchants Association. of Florida remarked that “I’ve been to many town hall meetings and this one benefitted the people.
