NORTH MIAMI CITY COUNCIL ALLOCATES $275,000 FOR 2017 DISTRICT 1 HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

Monday, December 18, at 9 a.m. the City of North Miami will begin distributing applications for its District 1 Housing Improvement Program. Distribution will take place in the Community Planning and Development (CP&D) Department, located at 12400 NE 8th Avenue, North Miami, FL 33161.   

The Housing Improvement Program is a repair and rehabilitation grant established to address aging and deteriorating homes. The Housing Improvement Program assists eligible residents with roof repairs, installation of hurricane impact windows, replacement of exterior doors, driveway improvements, replacement of deteriorated fascia, soffits and gutters, exterior painting and minor landscape improvements. This program is funded through the City of North Miami’s general fund and the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).   

In the 2017-2018 fiscal year, the North Miami City Council and the CRA Board allocated $1,100,000 for home improvement projects in the City of North Miami, with $275,000 allotted for District 1 residents. Funding will be offered on a first come, first served and first qualified basis. Detailed eligibility information is available here. North Miami’s District 1 residents interested in applying for assistance must visit the City’s CP&D Department with a state issued ID to receive the application (in-person only).
