Calling all readers and booklovers! The Annual Book Sale by the Friends of the North Miami Public Library begins this weekend, on Friday, Dec. 1 through Sunday, Dec. 3. Bookworms will find tremendous bargains and unexpected treasures at the NoMi Library, located at 835 NE 132 Street. Each year, attendees enjoy amazing bargains on rare books, first editions, autographed copies, collectibles and other items for as little as fifty cents. The first two days of the book sale will run during the Library’s regular business hours, which will change effective Friday, Dec. 1. The Library’s hours of operation will change from Monday-Thursday 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. to 9:30 a.m. – 8 p.m. giving Library patrons an additional eight hours of services. Friday and Saturday hours will remain the same 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.   

Also on Friday, the Friends of the North Miami Public Library will host a preview event, where members and prospective members, will have VIP access to book sale items to make their selections early.  Annual membership in the Friends of the North Miami Public Library is $10 per person. Dues may be paid onsite and will allow new members to be immediately admitted to the pre-sale event.   

The Friends of the North Miami Public Library, a non-profit organization, is funded by book sale events, private donations and through endowment from the Miami Foundation. Proceeds from the Annual Book Sale are specifically earmarked for programs and community events including a free monthly science camp, adult book clubs and summer reading programs.   For more information about the Friends of the North Miami Public Library visit
