North Miami, FL – 11/20/2017

Join the City of North Miami at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 23, for the 43rd Annual Winternational Thanksgiving Day Parade, a beloved North Miami holiday tradition spanning more than four decades.

North Miami’s Winternational Parade is South Florida’s only Thanksgiving Day parade. Guests will enjoy a free, fun-filled morning of spectacular bands, cultural and folkloric performances, entertaining dance groups, colorful floats, live music and family-friendly fun for all ages.   The 2017 theme is “Celebrating Community and Culture.” The Honorable Carrie P. Meek is this year’s grand marshal. Our hosts include television personality Constance Jones, radio personality Rodney Baltimore, along with DJ Hercules and DJ Lumoney.

This year, the City of North Miami will debut its #Get2NoMi float, showcasing all of the city’s information sharing platforms. The float also will premiere the City’s #Get2NoMi theme song, produced in collaboration with North Miami’s Criteria Studios and producer/engineer Scott “Scottie Nova” Crawford. Also, back by popular demand is the Tropical Nights of North Miami float, featuring live rolling concert performances by popular Haitian Kompa band Kai and Mikaben.

The parade route travels eastbound, along NE 125th Street, from 6th Avenue to 12th Avenue. The parade’s mainstage will be located at North Miami City Hall, 776 NE 125th Street. More than 60 entertaining parade units will be featured, with additional performance stops at NE 6th and NE 8th avenues.

Motorists will be impacted. No parking zones will be marked by Wednesday at 12:00 p.m. Vehicles must be removed by 6 a.m. Thursday. Parade guests may park in pre-approved municipal lots and curbside parking spaces throughout North Miami’s Downtown area.  Roads will begin closing to motorists at 7 a.m. on parade day. Eastbound traffic on NE 125th Street from West Dixie Highway to NE 12th Court will be detoured to NE 123rd Street.
