North Miami, FL – 10/25/2017

Kick-off the countdown to Halloween with neighbors, family and friends at City of North Miami’s Griffing Park in the Dark on Friday, Oct. 27 from 7 – 9:30 p.m.

Griffing Park in the Dark is a free, family-friendly Halloween-themed celebration that will feature a “spooktacular” children’s costume parade, a hay maze, scary storytellers and a showing of the film Hotel Transylvania 2. The event also will feature a bouce house, music, dance contests, food, candy and giveaways.  Ghosts and goblins of all ages are welcome at this fun, fall-themed event. Food is available for purchase throughout the park. Attendees are encouraged to wear Halloween attire.

This year, due to damage at  Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park caused by Hurricane Irma, the City of North Miami’s Annual Halloween Haunted Trails and Family Fun Zone event was cancelled and replaced with Griffing Park in Dark. Enchanted Forest Elaine Gordon Park will reopen soon. Repairs remain underway.

Griffing Boulevard, from West Dixie Highway to  NE 123rd Street will be closed to motorists on Oct. 27th from 4 - 11 p.m.

The City of North Miami’s Griffing Park in the Dark co-sponsors include Joe Dimaggio Children’s Hospital and Mady’s Dance Factory. For more information about Griffing Park in the Dark, call the City of North Miami’s Special Events Office at 305-895-9840, or visit
