North Miami, FL – 9/29/2017

The North Miami Police Department’s (NMPD) Neighborhood Enhancement Division invites members of the community to attend two events focused on community policing: National Night Out and Coffee With A Cop.

National Night Out will take place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, at NMPD’s Police Plaza, located at 770 NE 125th Street, North Miami. Rescheduled from its original date in August, NMPD’s National Night Out will provide an opportunity for officers to interact with residents and inform them of police services and resources. Guests also will enjoy great food, music, giveaways and family-friendly activities. Police station tours are among these activities, and are scheduled for 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. An NMPD Special Operations Unit Expo also will take place in the Police Plaza. The expo will showcase the NMPD K9 Unit, SWAT, Marine Patrol and Crime Scene Technicians. This event is free and open to all.

Wednesday, Oct. 4, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., the NMPD invites the community to enjoy Coffee With a Cop. The purpose of this event is for police officers and residents to converse, while exchanging information and ideas over complimentary pastries and coffee provided by Alaska Coffee Roasting of Miami, located at 13130 Biscayne Boulevard, North Miami. Coffee With A Cop is a popular community policing initiative throughout the nation. NMPD introduced the initiative locally in 2016.  This will be NMPD’s sixth Coffee With A Cop outreach.
