North Miami, FL – 7/25/2017

The City of North Miami, in an effort to boost the local economy, has streamlined administrative regulations and introduced new incentives to companies investing in film production within the City.

Effective as of June 20, 2017, this new development aims to continue North Miami’s goal of fostering and promoting film production within the City through incentives for qualified pre-production and production investors. Available film production incentives include free and reserved parking, space designated as a production base camp, fee waivers for use of City of North Miami facilities and administrative fee waivers for hiring off duty North Miami Police officers for security.

“Film projects in North Miami support the local workforce and enrich the City’s appeal to the business community at-large,” said North Miami City Manager, Larry M. Spring, Jr., CPA. “The City of North Miami definitely recognizes the value and importance of supporting film investment. These new incentives are designed to streamline permit application submittal and processing, and to draw more film production investment to our community.”

In October 2017, through the North Miami Community Redevelopment Agency, film industry investors may also qualify for reimbursements of up to $15,000 for funds spent at North Miami businesses during production.

In past years, dozens of companies have filmed in North Miami, such as MTV, NBC, Warner Brothers and many more. City of North Miami Administration expects continual growth in the production industry as the City evolves.
