SAFE IN SOUND YOUTH SUMMIT TO DEBUT IN NORTH MIAMI

North Miami, FL – 6/2/2017

Through collaboration between Gang Alternative, Inc., the Substance Abuse Coalition, Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the City of North Miami Parks and Recreation Department, the inaugural “Safe In Sound Youth Summit” will take place at 9 a.m. on June 5 at North Miami Senior High School.

Hosted by DJ Nasty of 99 JAMZ, the day-long “Safe In Sound Summit” challenges teens to explore the reality of media and music industry images, along with the impact on youth substance abuse, violence, bullying, employability and life decisions. This event aims to equip teens with tools to enhance community safety, productivity and good decision making before the school year ends.

The summit will feature several guest speakers and group discussions. Local youth organization, P.A.T.H. (Preserving, Achieving and Teaching Hip-hop) will facilitate both a DJ and freestyle battle.

North Miami Senior High School is located at 13110 NE 8th Ave, North Miami. For more information, contact the City of North Miami Parks and Recreation Department at 305-895-9840.
