North Miami, FL – 8/16/2012

Register for Get In Gear Community Ride at the MOCA Plaza at 5 p.m.

North Miami Mayor Andre D. Pierre, Esq. challenges the North Miami community to a healthier lifestyle by participating in monthly community bike rides across the City. The next ride is on Tonight -- Thursday, August 16th. Registration begins at 5 p.m. and the ride will depart at 5:30 p.m. sharp!

Commit yourself to a healthier lifestyle by participating in the ride through North Miami each month. It’s safe (where else do you get a police escort?), it’s easy (stops are made during the ride for water and restroom breaks) and it’s fun (bring your friends!).

Save time at registration by downloading registration forms on our website: Bring your own bike. Helmets are required for participants age 16 and under and encouraged for all participants. Three scheduled stops for water and restroom access will take place at: North Miami PAL Facility (12460 NE 13 Place), Jamba Juice (13505 Biscayne Boulevard), Lexus of North Miami (14100 Biscayne Boulevard), and El Kiosko (13290 West Dixie Highway.)

The Get in Gear Community Bike Ride is an ACHIEVE wellness initiative, in partnership with the North Miami Parks and Recreation Department and the North Miami Police Department. Our mission is to encourage a healthier lifestyle through exercise and more nutritional diets.

Can’t make it tonight? Mark your calendar now and plan to participate in the September ride on Thursday, September 13th. For details on the Get in Gear Bike Ride, call the North Miami Office of the Mayor and Council at 305-895-9815 or 305-895-9818.
