North Miami, FL – 3/16/2017

North Miami City Manager, Larry M. Spring, Jr., CPA invites the public to attend the next City Manager’s Community Council Forum, scheduled for Thursday, March 16 at 6 p.m.

Spring implemented the community council in July 2016 to strengthen relations between the city of North Miami’s Police Department (NMPD) and its citizens. The City Manager’s goal is to provide a platform for members of public and NMPD to exchange relationship-building ideas and implementation strategies.

The upcoming City Manger’s Community Council Forum will be attended by Police Chief Gary Eugene, members of the NMPD Executive Staff, city of North Miami government leaders, community council members and the general public.

Discussion points will include an update to the current Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) investigation, a demonstration of NMPD’s forthcoming body-worn camera program, updates from the NMPD Crisis Intervention Team and the latest developments regarding the Police Executive Research Forum. Additionally, the forum will feature updates and feedback from community council members. Other citizens in attendance will also be given the opportunity to engage with the City Manager and Police Chief.

The forum will take place at the Joe Celestin Center, located at 1525 Northwest 135 Street in North Miami. This will be the third gathering of the City Manager’s Community Council.
