NORTH MIAMI CITY OFFICIALS TO COMMEMORATE THE 6TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE EARTHQUAKE IN HAITI

North Miami, FL – 1/12/2016

Today marks six years since the devastating earthquake in Haiti took more than 200,000 lives and left the country in disarray. The city of North Miami will pay tribute to the lives lost today at 11:00 a.m. in City Hall. The remembrance ceremony will feature powerful performances, testimonials, and a moment of silence to remember the 45 seconds that devastated the beloved country of Haiti.  Mayor Smith Joseph and City Council will honor members of the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Urban Search & Rescue and Jackson Health System for their willingness, determination and assistance during an international crisis that affected many including North Miami residents.   

What:               6th Anniversary of the Earthquake in Haiti Remembrance Ceremony 

When:              Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 11 a.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
