North Miami, FL – 4/25/2012

With a mission to make North Miami a safer place to live, work and play, the F.A.C.T. Festival, or Families Against Crime Together Festival,is both a family-fun event and one that provides serious educational topics and resources to families of North Miami and neighboring communities. The event unites local agencies, including law enforcement, social services and education, to provide the facts on a wide range of services available for families in South Florida. This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. at North Miami Senior High School, 13100 NE 8 Avenue, in North Miami. There is no cost to attend the event, which is made possible by a grant from The Children’s Trust, the gracious annual support of Johnson & Wales University, as well as several partners in the community.

In addition to learning opportunities, such as proper use of the 911 system, drug and gang awareness and more, children and teens will enjoy an autograph session with Miami Dolphin players and cheerleaders. All attendees will be awestruck by a customized Lamborghini police car provided by Prestige Imports. The event also features local entertainment, giveaways, food/refreshments, raffle prizes and much more! Children must bring an adult to qualify for the free raffle prizes, as the event is a FAMILY affair.

The 2012 North Miami Police Department FACT Festival is presented by the City of North Miami, The Children’s Trust and the North Miami Police Athletic League, with generous support from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Johnson & Wales University, Archie’s Awards by Connie, Inc., Downtown Towing, Estime & Irwin Associates, Gustav Designs, LA Fitness, Lexus of North Miami, Midtown Towing of Miami, Museum of Contemporary Art, MOCA Café, Positive Impact Foundation, Smoothie King, Walgreens, and Westbrook Motors, Inc.
