“The Single Family Home Beautification program provides grants up to $10,000 to each qualified home for repairs such as exterior painting, replacement of exterior doors, repaving of driveways, and replacement of older windows with hurricane impact windows”

Councilman Alix Desulme will host a reception awarding ten (10) residents of District four $10,000 worth of home rehabilitation services. The event will take place on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 at the new District 4 Office housed in the North Miami Police Community Workstation Office; 13753 NW 7th Ave, North Miami, Florida 33168 from 6:00-7:00 PM.   

 Councilman Alix Desulme created the “Home Beautification & Ownership Program (HBO)” and will randomly select ten (10) qualified applicants from a pool of 16 pre-qualified residents. This initiative is designed to improve the community through physical and economic investments with the intent to improve and repair the exterior façade of homes in District 4.The North Miami’s Community Planning and Development Department is leading this initiative as they pre-qualified residents based on the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development guidelines.

Councilman Alix Desulme has an outstanding record of public service and takes pride in his commitment and dedication to the community. Councilman Desulme is a certified teacher, small business owner and an adjunct professor at St. Thomas University. On Tuesday, June 2, 2015, Alix was elected to the North Miami City Council, representing the West portion of the City of North Miami, District 4. In a 2009 city-wide election, Councilman Desulme made history becoming the first Black elected City Clerk of North Miami. Councilman Desulme holds the distinction of being the youngest and first Haitian-American elected as City Clerk in the United States of America.
