Nelson “Piman Bouk” Voltaire Recognized for his Contributions to North Miami

North Miami Mayor Smith Joseph, D.O., Pharm.D. and the City Council will honor Nelson “Piman Bouk” Voltaire for his work and contributions to the North Miami community at an induction ceremony for the City’s Hall of Fame on Friday, May 22nd  at 6:00 p.m.  The ceremony will take place in the Paradise Courtyard of the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA), located at 770 NE 125 Street.  

Nelson “Piman Bouk” Voltaire is a successful entrepreneur, well-known radio host, social activist and a man of faith. For over 30 years, Nelson’s radio show has been the primary news outlet for Haitian-Americans throughout South Florida. His show is broadcasted from the WLQY 1320am radio station located in the city of North Miami.  Through his radio show Nelson encourages the community to proudly embrace their constitutional right to vote, engage in local government and participate in the electoral process. The Miami Herald has characterized Nelson’s radio show as the CNN of Haitian radio.
