City Clerk - Business Tax Receipt

To apply for a business tax receipt, a perspective business owner must come in person with the necessary documents.') If the business has been incorporated, we will need a copy of the articles of incorporation, and the company’s federal identification number. For a business that has not been incorporated but has a fictitious name, we will need to see evidence that the name has been registered with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) in Tallahassee. We will also need proof that industries or professions, such as physicians, real estate brokers, beauticians and so forth, which are regulated by the State of Florida, have the appropriate state receipts before we can issue them a business tax receipt.

The City’s Zoning Department must review all applications for business tax receipts. Some businesses will also need to have fire and health inspections, before they can receive a business tax receipt.
