City Clerk
The City Clerk’s Office carries a number of functions for the City
such as overseeing City elections, keeping a record of all City Council
meetings, and maintaining the City’s Code of Ordinances. In addition
to those responsibilities, our staff spends the majority of its time
accepting applications for occupational licenses and applications
for United States passports.
Occupational Licenses:
If the business has been incorporated, we will need a copy of the
articles of incorporation, and the company’s federal identification
number. For a business that has not been incorporated but has a
fictitious name, we will need to see evidence that the name has
been registered with the
Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations
(DBPR) in Tallahassee. We will also need proof that industries or
professions, such as physicians, real estate brokers, beauticians
and so forth, which are regulated by the State of Florida, have
the appropriate state licenses before we can issue them an occupational
license. The City’s Zoning Department must review all applications
for occupation licenses. Some businesses will also need to have
fire and health inspections, before they can receive a license.
Passports:
Please feel free to contact our office at 305.895.9817, for any
additional information about occupational license and passport applications,
or any other topic with which we may be of assistance.
