Get in Gear Community Monthly Bike Ride

Rides take place on the second Saturday of the month

  • December 10, 2016


MOCA Plaza, 770 NE 125 Street, North Miami

Registration: 8:00 a.m.
Departure: 8:30 a.m.


Commit yourself to a healthier lifestyle by participating in this 10 mile ride through North Miami! The ride is safe (where else do you get a police escort?), it’s easy (stops are made during the ride for water and restroom breaks) and it’s fun (bring your friends!).

Our mission is to encourage a healthier lifestyle through exercise and more nutritional diets.

Bring your own bike. Helmets are required for all participants ages 16 and under and encouraged for all participants.

The City of North Miami University Relations Board and the alliance of Neighborhood Associations invite you to participate in the:

This contest is open to all 11 and 12 graders from any High School in north Miami.

ESSAY TOPIC:
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929–1968) was a minister, activist, humanitarian and Civil Rights leader who led by his actions and through his many inspirational speeches. His words proved that what is written, and what is spoken can make a difference in the world.

Using the quote, “We are not makers of history. We are made by history.” from Dr. King,describe in writing how someone or something in your personal history helped to define and shape who you are and what you believe today.Martin Luther King, Jr. used his words to change history. How will you use yours?

CONTEST RULES
  1. Essays are limited to 500 typed words,with a font size of 12 pt. 
  2. STUDENTS MUST complete the Entry Form (Please click here to download the entry form) and submit it with the Essay by Wednesday, December 21, 2016 by 5:00 p.m.
