Purchasing - Debbie Falestra

Debbie came to the City of North Miami in the Summer of 86’ as the Account Clerk for the Purchasing Division.  She stayed in that position until December of 1994 when she was then promoted to the position of Buyer.  She worked that desk diligently until October 2003, when she was named Interim Purchasing Agent for four months. She then earned permanent status of Purchasing Agent in February 2004.  Her department continuos to expand and as of November 2006, she became Purchasing Manager. With that, we have been fortunate to have her professional services thus far of 20 years and counting. 

In her time here in Purchasing she has obtained her AS in Business Administration from Kaplan University and also obtained both professional certifications from the UPPCC (Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council) as a Certified Professional Public Buyer (CPPB) and Certified Professional Public Officer (CPPO).  Both certifications are highly recognized in the public purchasing field.

Debbie came to us as a young single lady and has since grown to be a terrific young woman. She is married 17 years and has two beautiful children, both of which we have had the pleasure of watching grow into (beautiful and handsome) young teens thus far.

Debbie was selected as the Employee of the Quarter in the Summer of 2003 by her boss, Carlos Perez.
