The City of North Miami Housing Division is accepting
applications for general contractors
CITY OF NORTH MIAMI -HOUSING DIVISION
REQUEST FOR APPLICATIONS
The City of North Miami Housing Division is accepting applications
for general contractors to participate in its Owner-occupied Single
Family Rehabilitation Program. The program is funded with grant
funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
(HUD) and the State Housing Initiatives Partnership (SHIP). Applicants
must satisfy certain eligibility criteria and be qualified prior
to being placed on the City’s Approved Contractor List. Interested
contractors must submit the following for consideration:
General Contractor’s (GC) License
Occupational License from Miami-Dade County and/or North Miami
Workman’s Compensation with coverage of up to $250,000
Liability Insurance with coverage of up to $200,000
SCOPE
The Rehabilitation Program addresses Quality of Life, Health and
Safety issues. The objective is to ensure that the main component
systems, such as Roof, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical Systems,
are functioning properly. All work must satisfy the Florida Building
Code, City of North Miami’s Zoning Code as well as the Housing Quality
Standards (HQS).
SUBMITTAL
All applications must be submitted Monday thru Thursday, between
the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm, at the Community Planning and Development
Department, 12340 NE 8th Avenue, North Miami, Florida 33161. Applications
are accepted on an on-going basis.
The Code of Federal Regulation (24CFR92.351) requires that the participating
jurisdiction (City of North Miami) establish an outreach program
to ensure the inclusion of minorities and women, to the maximum
extent possible, in the procurement of property and services. The
City of North Miami does not discriminate on the basis of race,
